Problems this addresses

Palantir Foundry is a fit when finance or revenue needs to act on one set of business objects, not only to read a chart. A customer, a contract, and an invoice can be objects people already name, with links between them and an application where a person reviews a change before it is saved.

We scope the Ontology to the decision in front of you. We do not start by modeling every noun in the company, and we do not treat Foundry as a slide. Access, the action a user can take, and what an assistant is allowed to read are part of the same delivery.

The meeting is a pile of exports

Finance pulls invoices, sales pulls the account list, and someone pastes both into a workbook. The customer is not one object. Foundry is useful when those exports become objects and links the business recognizes, so the review starts from the customer instead of from the file.

A change in a spreadsheet leaves no record

Someone overwrites a forecast comment or a credit decision and the prior value is gone. An action in Foundry can require a person, capture who did it, and keep the write limited to the fields you chose. A dashboard filter does not do that.

An assistant is detached from the records

A summary that cannot point at the object it used is not ready for a revenue review. If an assistant is in scope, it answers from approved objects and shows the record. A person decides before anything is written back.

Access lives in a policy deck

Markings and restricted views are how Foundry keeps a region on its accounts and finance on the total. We test two roles against the objects in scope. We do not leave access as a paragraph in a design document.

Hypothetical example. A revenue council reviews the top accounts before forecast lock. In this hypothetical, discounts sit in a contract file and the forecast sits in a sheet, so the council reconciles by hand. A first Foundry slice is the account, the open opportunity, and the active discount, with a person confirming any change to the forecast note. It is not a model of the entire order-to-cash process.

What you leave with

You leave with a narrow Ontology, one operational application, and a written rule for who can see and change the objects. The rest of the business stays where it is until this slice is trusted.

Objects and links for one decision

The nouns the meeting already uses, linked the way the review actually works. Pipeline and invoice, or contract and revenue, not a catalog of every table in the estate.

A Workshop application for one workflow

The screen the reviewer opens, with the fields they can change and the fields they can only read. Consequential saves require a person. We do not hide the write behind an automatic action.

Access checked with two roles

A finance role and a commercial role, or whichever pair matches the process. Each role is shown what it can see and what it cannot, using markings or restricted views as the product supports.

Notes the next owner can run

What the objects mean, how a record gets in, and what to do when a source file is late. Optional follow-on work is explicit. We do not imply an open-ended rebuild.

What a Free Assessment covers

A Free Assessment for Foundry starts from the review that still happens in exports. We list the objects that review needs, the action a person must confirm, and whether Foundry is already where that work should live.

If a Power BI report would answer the question, we say that. Bring the workbook the council uses and one example account. We follow up within 2 business days.

FAQs

Is Foundry a replacement for Power BI?

Not by default. Power BI is often the right surface for a finance pack. Foundry is the right surface when people need to open an object and take a reviewed action. Some teams use both, for different jobs.

Do you model the whole company?

No. A useful first Ontology is the objects in one decision. Expanding it is a later choice, after those objects are the ones the meeting trusts.

Can an assistant change a forecast?

Not unattended. An assistant can draft from approved objects and show its sources. A person confirms a change that would move a forecast, a credit, or a customer record.

Do you sell Foundry or claim a special status with Palantir?

No. Your Foundry enrollment stays yours. We implement the objects, application, access, and handover in scope. The name on this page is not a status claim.
